From getting the taste right to analysing the nutritional benefits, fitness performance support and ensuring our products are mindful of the environment, we put our all into it and ensured we had the best in the business on our side to help us get it just right.

Ro Huntriss

Our clinical lead dietitian & nutritionist

BSc (Hons), PGDip, MSc, MRes, RD

Ro (Rosemary) Huntriss is a UK Registered Dietitian with several years’ experience working in the NHS, private practice and commercial business. She is an academic author, having published in peer-reviewed journals including the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, and is one of four authors globally to have their work featured in the 2020 Public Health England consultation on lower-carbohydrate diets for type 2 diabetes.

Ro works as a Clinical Lead Dietitian for Europe’s largest dietetic digital healthcare company and has worked with several brands to include Nestlé, Huel and Natvia. Ro also contributes to many national publications to include the Daily Mail, The Express, The Sun, HELLO! Magazine, OK! Magazine, The Mirror and many more. Her advanced knowledge of food helped us to craft our formulations perfectly to have the right balance of taste, substance and nourishment.

Alex Cook

Our sports and endurance dietitian

BSc(hons) Pg. Dip. RD. United Kingdom Athletics (UKA) Coach & Ultra Runner

Alex Cook is a registered clinical and sports dietician with over a decade of experience in dietary management, nutrition planning and sports performance. Specialising in endurance nutrition and supporting a range of athletes, from ultra distance enthusiasts to elite level junior athletes, and assisting with multi-day expeditions in challenging environments.

Alex has had varied experience in the past, having worked with the Ministry of Defence, NHS and a number of rehabilitation and physiotherapy clinics too. She is a contributor to a number of publications within the diet and fitness industries including Athletics Weekly, Running Fitness,Trail Running magazine, Fit and Well and Woman's Own.

Alex has worked with EXALT to analyse the ingredients used in our products and help us to create formulas that work to support sports performance, so you can become the best version of yourself at the grab of a bottle.

What’s the difference between a Nutritionist and a Dietitian?

Dieticians are the only nutrition professionals to be regulated by law, and are governed by an ethical code to ensure that they always work to the highest standard. That is why we like to work with Ro, our resident dietitian, as her work will always be ground in science. You're not allowed to call yourself a dietitian unless you're properly qualified and registered.

Whereas the title of nutritionist is not protected by law, meaning that anyone can advertise their services as a nutritionist. Find out more from the NHS.

Mckenzi Sager

Our fitness specialist

Mckenzi has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years, so it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two. He started training clients when he was just 15 years old in a local gym after school. He has gone on to train 1000's of clients, many going on to excel in competitive sport or exhibition bodybuilding. He himself initially competed in gymnastics before moving onto bodybuilding. He has entered four bodybuilding competitions, winning three and ranking 4th in national champs. Personal bests including; 315kg deadlift and 190kg bench press.

He later completed the industry gold standard Poliquin International Certificate Program (PICP) - the strength training certification based on the concept of structural balance alongside more traditional strength training. His extensive knowledge of nutrition, mobility and mindfulness has allowed him to become one of the best qualified and most experienced personal trainers in the UK. As someone so dedicated and informed, we knew we wanted to have him on board as he aligns with our values perfectly.

Felix Gummer

Our sustainability consultant

Felix is a director at Sancroft international where he is responsible for leading their business development and implementation strategy.

Throughout his career, he has worked across all areas of commercial sustainability, spending almost a decade focussing on Human Rights in the Tesco PLC supply chain.

We asked Felix to enlighten us on wider sustainability issues and what we could do to ensure we’re being fair to our people, communities and the environment. His area of expertise involves working with many FMCG brands on their sustainability initiatives and we knew he could help us achieve the values that are so important to us.

Kim Hartwell

Our yoga & movement expert

Kim is an experienced personal trainer who has coached in London’s finest studios for over 5 years. She currently teaches both movement, mobility and yoga at various high-end gyms and studios across London.

Whilst living in New York and working as a model, Kim qualified as a personal trainer with NASM-CPT (certified personal trainer level 3) and as a NASM-CES (corrective exercise specialist level 4). She has also studied with functional range conditioning (FRC) which she implements into most of her training protocols.

Kim is also a Lululemon ambassador and also works with Vivobarefoot, The North Face and Roxy. She is also an avid adventurer and rock climber and founder of Rock and Soul Adventures.

Previously working with many leading food and drinks companies like Green & Black’s, M&S, Parmigiano Reggiano, Cawston Press and Heinz, we knew these guys had the skills needed to help us achieve exactly what we were looking to do.

The team at Tastehead helped us to refine our whey and protein blends and ready-to-drink recipes, and we may be biased but we think we ended up with a delicious result.

We always want to be upfront with our members, and let you know while we’re pretty damn good at understanding nutrition, even we need a little help from our friends from time to time.
